Where To Begin
How to become a reiki practitioner in Los Angeles
Reiki Level 1 certification takes one weekend. A typical intensive runs two days and covers the founding principles, attunements, hand positions, chakra basics, and guided self-practice. Level 2 and Reiki Master Training each have their own intensive, building on what came before.
The full path from Level 1 to Reiki Master takes a minimum of several months. Most students practice between levels before moving on. Jaime and Yonatan have created a space that is both nurturing and professional, which matters when you are opening to attunement work for the first time.
Reiki is a complementary practice. It is not medical or mental-health care, and it does not diagnose or treat any condition.

Meet your reiki Master Teachers
Jaime Elkayam is a Certified Reiki Master Teacher, Energy Medicine Practitioner, Certified Breathwork Facilitator, and Somatic Facilitator. Yonatan Elkayam is a Certified Reiki Master Teacher, Certified Breathwork Facilitator, and Classical Pilates Instructor, with 30 years of musical and vibrational study. Both trained in the traditional Usui reiki lineage.
They are married and have supported therapists, healers, and practitioners across Los Angeles for over 10 years. Jaime brings somatic and energetic depth. Yonatan brings musical and breathwork grounding. Together they give students a training environment shaped by two teachers at once.

Level 1 certification takes one weekend. Becoming a confident practitioner takes ongoing self-practice after class. Most students practice for at least a few months before advancing to Level 2. The full path to Reiki Master adds two more weekend intensives and a mentorship period.
There is no single federal accreditation body for reiki certification in the US. Our certificates document successful completion of each level's requirements and are issued by Certified Reiki Master Teachers in the Usui lineage. Graduates can optionally affiliate with professional organizations like the IARP or ICRT after certification. If you plan to offer paid sessions, check your local licensing requirements.
Yes. Payment plans are available for Reiki Level 1 and Reiki Master Training. Contact us before enrolling to discuss your preferred plan.
Yes, you can practice on friends and family after Level 1. For paid professional sessions, Level 2 is the generally accepted standard, as it covers the practitioner-level symbols and distance healing protocols.
No. Reiki is not tied to any religion or belief system. The Usui tradition has its own principles, but it is practiced by people of many faiths and by secular practitioners.
No prior experience is needed for Level 1. Our students include complete beginners, therapists integrating energy work into their practice, and people drawn to reiki for personal and spiritual growth. If you are unsure whether training is right for you, start with a reiki session. Book a first session.
Our training is in person at our Melrose studio in West Hollywood. We believe attunements and guided practice benefit from physical presence. We currently do not offer online-only reiki certification.
You will receive your Level 1 certificate and be able to practice reiki on yourself and others. We encourage a period of daily self-practice before advancing. Graduates are welcome to contact us with questions and can work toward Level 2 when they feel ready.

Our private Melrose studio in West Hollywood is home base for every class. Students travel in from Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Studio City, Culver City, Brentwood, Sherman Oaks, Hancock Park, Larchmont Village, Miracle Mile, Beverly Grove, Westwood, and across the LA metro. All attunements and guided practice happen in person, so the drive is worth it.
